Course Description

Understanding the basics of classroom management is just the beginning.  Positive reinforcement and positive contact are great tools for success, but what do you do when it’s not enough.  Some students require more than a pat on the back and a positive word to succeed in a classroom environment.  Especially if those students have experienced trauma and suffer from multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences(ACES).

In Classroom management 102, staff members will learn how to not only integrate the positive youth development strategies from Classroom Management 101 into their day to day practice,   but also how to identify the roots of certain behaviors. Staff will explore and practice new methods to support challenging students through the lens of  trauma informed care.
